Our work on terms and conditions, consultation on security payments and representation in extra-judicial, arbitration and court proceedings, especially in questions in connection with insurance cover, recourse, liability questions and defence against claims often also involves clarifying technical details and questions related to foreign law. In these areas we can draw on many years of experience and on an international network of experts and foreign maritime and transport insurance law colleagues which has developed and proved its worth over several decades.

In addition to our work with clients, we regularly publish articles in the established specialist periodicals. Some of our lawyers have also published commentaries, are active in teaching and lecturing and are in demand as speakers at national and international specialist events. Moreover, our lawyers are regularly requested and appointed as arbitrators, especially in transport and maritime insurance disputes.

Cyber insurance is still one of the most dynamic products in the insurance market. We have monitored and supported the development of this product from the outset, and amongst other things we have developed various terms and conditions together with our clients. At the same time, we also support both insurers and policyholders in the event of a claim.

This also applies in the area of consequential loss insurance. Here we provide consultation and representation for various professional groups in consultation with the relevant insurers, for example for architects, lawyers, notaries or IT companies if they are accused of violating their obligations.

We also have specialised skills and experience in the area of industrial liability. Asserting liability and coverage claims on behalf of policyholders and defending such claims for insurers is a regular element of our work. On behalf of our clients, we also assert and enforce compensation claims against third parties.

Because of our long-standing experience in this area we have also been able to acquire the relevant technical understanding. If necessary, we also work together with established independent experts who are able to provide competent support in the event of a claim.

We also provide support and advice to other market participants, especially insurers, in all questions which arise in connection with sale and distribution activities. In particular, we support our clients in adapting their processes and products to new regulatory requirements or new forms of distribution (e.g. on-line or mobile sales) and in the implementation of technical innovations.
