Germany: enforcement authority sets Big Tech in its sights

Germany’s Federal Cartel Office is sharpening its focus on Big Tech. With expanded powers under Section 19a GWB and alignment with the EU’s Digital Markets Act, the authority is taking a proactive stance to regulate digital platforms with “paramount significance across markets.” At the same time, enforcement remains robust across traditional industries, from healthcare to energy.
